How do I get a temp dental hygienist in Toronto?
Post the shift with the date, role and borough, plus your nearest station and whether there is parking. It goes to verified hygienists whose travel radius covers you, and whoever wants it claims it. On temp bookings the hygienist is our employee, so we confirm CDHO registration in good standing, carry the insurance and run payroll, and you get one invoice at an all-in hourly rate.
Why do you split Toronto into six areas?
Because the city is about ninety minutes wide in morning traffic and the six pre-amalgamation names are still how people describe where they live and work. A professional in Etobicoke does not consider a Scarborough shift local, and a page covering both equally would be no use to either. It is the opposite of a place like Greater Victoria, where thirteen municipalities genuinely do share one pool.
Is it enough to say we are in Toronto?
It is enough to get the shift posted and not enough to fill it well. Toronto is a market containing six of them. The borough tells a professional whether the trip is plausible at all, and the nearest station or intersection tells them how long it will take. Both are one line each and both change who claims it.
Are dental assistants regulated in Ontario?
No. There is no regulatory college for dental assistants in Ontario, which surprises practices arriving from provinces where there is one. Level II intra-oral duties require the NDAEB certificate, and RCDSO rules require dentists to assign those duties only to assistants who hold it, so the obligation sits with the practice. Radiographs additionally require HARP certification. On a temp booking we confirm both as applicable.
Which parts of Toronto are hardest to fill?
Broadly, the further you are from a subway station the smaller your realistic pool, because a large share of professionals here do not drive. The outer ends of Scarborough and northwest Etobicoke are the clearest cases. Practices in those areas do better with more notice, and better again if the posting mentions parking or a bus route.
