Dental staffing in North Vancouver

Cover an open chair from Lower Lonsdale to Deep Cove, or pick up temp shifts without ever crossing a bridge. On the North Shore your real catchment is the people already on this side, and that is exactly who your posted shift reaches first.

Who is actually in range

Two bridges and a boat

The North Shore is the most constrained catchment in the metro. Everything arriving from the south comes over Lions Gate, over the Ironworkers, or across on the SeaBus, and at half past seven in the morning that crossing is the entire commute.

So we do not pretend a straight-line radius means anything here. Your shift goes first to the substantial resident workforce already on this side, who mostly want to work without crossing. The southern pool is real but secondary, and it thins sharply at exactly the hours you need it.

For North Vancouver practices

Coverage that respects the crossing

Your local pool is your real pool

The North Shore has a substantial resident workforce who would rather not cross a bridge to work. Posting reaches them first, and they are the people most likely to say yes to a Tuesday at short notice.

Matched on the trip, not the distance

A radius drawn on a map would put half of Burnaby in range of you. Matching on the journey someone would actually make is what stops your shift going to people who were never coming.

Nothing lands on your front desk

Registration confirmed, insurance carried and payroll run on temp and locum bookings, where the professional is our employee. One invoice, all in.

Build a short list you can rebook

Continuity is worth more here than almost anywhere, because a familiar professional who lives on this side is coverage you can count on.

What your post looks like

This is the view from the other side

A professional scanning open shifts on a Sunday evening sees where, what and when. That is the whole decision. On the North Shore, where every trip is a judgement about a crossing, “North Vancouver” on its own is not enough to make it with.

Name the neighbourhood. If you are walkable from the SeaBus, say that too, because it is the one detail that genuinely opens your office to the downtown pool.

For North Shore professionals

Work this side of the water

Never cross a bridge again

Set your radius to the North Shore and that is all you will be shown. No Lions Gate at half past seven unless you decide you want it.

A smaller pool works in your favour

North Shore offices compete for a local workforce that mostly stays local. That is a comfortable position to be choosy from.

See it before you claim it

Neighbourhood, role, hours and rate are on the shift before you accept. Nothing is assigned to you.

One tax form, however many offices

Work Lonsdale one week and Edgemont the next. Every shift runs through WORKFORCE and lands on a single T4.

North Vancouver staffing questions

Is it harder to staff a North Vancouver practice?

It is more constrained, which is a different thing. Two bridges and a SeaBus are the only ways onto the North Shore, so a professional living in Burnaby is genuinely further from you at half past seven than the map suggests. The upside is that the North Shore has a substantial resident pool of its own, and those people mostly want to work without crossing. Posting to that pool is what makes coverage here work.

How should I post a North Vancouver shift?

Name the neighbourhood, not the municipality. Lower Lonsdale, Central Lonsdale, Lynn Valley, Edgemont, Capilano, Deep Cove and Seymour are all meaningfully different trips once you are on this side. If you are walkable from the SeaBus terminal, say so, because that single detail opens you up to the downtown pool in a way nothing else does.

Do North Shore professionals travel off the North Shore?

Some do and many prefer not to, which is entirely their call. Professionals set the distance and the trip they are willing to make, and every shift shows its location before anyone claims it. It is worth knowing that this cuts both ways: it is why your local pool is loyal, and why you should not count on the Vancouver pool to fill a last-minute Monday.

Who employs the temp professional in my North Vancouver office?

We do, on temp and locum bookings. We confirm registration in good standing with the BC College of Oral Health Professionals, carry the insurance and run payroll, and you get one invoice at an all-in hourly rate. On a permanent hire your practice becomes the employer and runs its own registration checks and references.

I live on the North Shore. Can I work without crossing a bridge?

That is exactly what setting your travel radius is for. Keep it to the North Shore and you will see North and West Vancouver work only, with no Ironworkers at eight in the morning. Plenty of professionals here do precisely that, and because the local pool is smaller than the demand, it tends to be a comfortable place to be picky.

Can I get the same professional on regular days?

You can request them, and on the North Shore it is worth building a short list of a few people rather than relying on one. Someone who already knows your operatory and does not have to think about the crossing is the best coverage you can have, and your dates go to them first. Each shift is still theirs to accept, so a genuinely fixed weekly column is a permanent hire rather than a standing temp booking. If somebody on the list fits permanently, we will ask whether they want that, and a fee applies if it goes ahead, quoted up front.
