Long-term care is a regulated environment and residents are owed a great deal of care in how it is run. We would rather be plain about which parts are not ours.
Screening and clearances are yours to set
Police and vulnerable sector checks, immunization status, and any home-specific requirements differ between operators and between provinces. Tell us what your home requires and we provide it before anyone is scheduled.
Consent and capacity stay with the home
Decisions about a resident's care involve the resident, their substitute decision-maker, and your clinical team. We staff the appointment. We are not part of that decision and would not want to be.
Infection control follows your protocols
Homes run stricter and more specific protocols than a private practice, and they change. Professionals work to the protocols in place at your home on the day, not to a generic standard.
